From Southern Belle to Global Rebel – $12.00
Memoirs of anthropologist and activist Mary Lindsay Elmendorf
“A painting of my life story would be full of international color, rich with friends and colleagues famous for their passion and talent, heavy with world issues and concern for human welfare, and honored with titles and awards like the Nobel Peace Prize with my fellow Quakers for our work in Europe during and after World War II.
The basis of this vibrant composition was a love story between college sweethearts, John Elmendorf and Mary Lindsay, who married and raised a family while working on global and domestic matters. In the US and Mexico, our home was academia, starting when we met at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and then wherever our progressive ideas took us, including our final home base in Sarasota, Florida due to New College.”
