Knowledge being paramount to all other quests, I have navigated with intuition on a route with academic ports. A graduate of Abington Friends School in Jenkintown, PA, I have practied as a Quaker since learning about the faith in the late 1980s. Faculty there directed me to St. John's College, aka "the Great Books Program," through which I enjoyed Annapolis, MD and Santa Fe, NM, both ciites with campuses for this unique institution. Artisitic by nature, I developed interest in gardening in the 1990s and forged a career related to plants, including landscaping, growing, and managing an organic herb nursery.
A writer since age 7, I was motivated by the messages in my work and have circumvented traditional publishing to make the work available. In 2001, I began to share poetry publicly and eventually created a performance persona, Share Fauxhair, because I had no stage experience. Activism about environemental and cultural issues, particluarly those related to the Quaker testimonies of peace, equality, truth, and simplicity, was central in my schedule from 2001-2013. Soon after moving to Sarasota, I expanded interest in esotericism via Rising Tide International and initiation in the Inayati Order of Sufism.
